Hi, my name is Flashley!
Hi,
I'm Ash, a 40-something divorced father of two. In March this year, I was diagnosed with ADHD; I'm still early on in that journey of adapting and adjusting. I have a partner who is also neurodiverse and has CP & Fibro.
I'm a gamer, programmer, and amateur graphic designer. In previous lives, I've also been a DJ (playing Punk & Ska) and a Twitch streamer!
I'm here to connect with the community, share my experiences, and also seek support.

Hi @Flashley welcome to the community! Very cool that you used to DJ!
I know our @Albus_Scope loves some gaming too, so I'm sure he'll pop along to say hello when he can. What kind of games do you enjoy?
I hope you'll enjoy your time on the community 😊

A big welcome from me too @Flashley
A gamer and an ex alt DJ? Yup, I think we'll get on just fine haha. How're you getting on with your late diagnosis?

@Rosie_Scope Thanks! I'm a dabbler in most things, but strategy, survival, and buildy-type games are a hot spot for me, alongside driving games, RPGs, and, more recently, Dungeon looters.
Currently, I've gone back to Cities: Skylines II, started Stalker 2, Mechwarrior 5: Clans, and I'm continuing to play Diablo IV.
I've had a lo-ong gaming career, so I've tried most genres at least once or twice!
@Albus_Scope I'm struggling, to be honest. I'm doing my best to get my ducks in a row, but I've got a lot of pressure in my life, too. Although my late diagnosis was pretty conclusive, I never know whether I'm having some of my issues due to the ADHD or trauma response.
I've found a stable dose of meds with the doctor now, and I'm working on understanding RSD and the years of shame and guilt that I've been accumulating. They say life begins at 40, but this journey has been a heck of a way to begin again.

Heya @Flashley I hope you're enjoying Stalker 2, I'll be waiting until payday to grab it, so currently working my way through DragonAge Veilguard and Metaphor, with a bit of Once Human and Worshippers of Cthulhu mixed in.😁
It'll take a good while with your diagnosis for things to make sense, I'm waiting on my ADHD diagnosis (100% certain though) but got my ASD diagnosis 2 years ago. I know there'll be a lot of second guessing, but just be gentle with yourself, there's a heck of a lot to unpack. I've written a piece on RSD here that may be helpful? But there's a few of us late diagnosed neuro-spicy folk here and we're always here to talk things through. 😊
