Bus pass renewal
Has anybody having trouble renewing Disability bus pass in West Yorkshire Metro
W Y M are telling people to get the Doctor to sign the renewal form, which has been done in the past. Now the Doctors are saying this signing of forms has stopped and
W Y M do know about this, my wife has sent in medical records etc about her Disability
but W Y M still need a Doctor to sign the form. Thinking of getting one of the Doctors on line who charge £49.

Hey there @godsend that sounds like a bit of a pickle!
I've had a look online and it says you need to supply proof of your disability. So if you claim PIP or similar, you could use a copy of that letter as proof. It'd save you £49 too!

Have you asked GP if they will do it for payment?
My local Surgery charge around £25 as these things are classed as non-nhs, private work.

Hello Albus
Yes on the PIP letter
W Y M will only accept 10 points or more on moving around.
Been down this line on the phone to them.
Must be more people going through this.

Ah yes, sorry @godsend I'd assumed you had a mobility component to your PIP, my apologies. I know most councils will require higher rate mobility to be able to claim a blue badge or disabled bus/train pass.
It doesn't have to be your GP that shows proof of disability. It could be a nurse you see, or someone from the hospital? It just needs to be a medical professional.0 -
Yes,
just needs to be a medical professional - we will have to get some kind of appointment ha ha
Thank you Albus
