UC asks Private Pension statement.
Recently UC office asks for bank statements from UC claim start date (claim UC from September. I understand they want to check if I declare correct amount.
There nothing wrong. Because of transition from Tax Credits to UC my savings over £16000 is ignored for next 12 months.
Also asked Private Pension statement.
I asked about grounds why they ask this information if Private pension pot is disregarded for UC purposes.
They responded - "want to see who is provider and want to see if I receive private pension".
With Private Pension provider - ok, no problems because some providers might not fit UC requirements and savings counts as capital for UC purposes.
But why I must declare "how much private pension I receive" if by law I can't get private pension, because I'm under 55.
Maybe worth to put complaint against this request?

To be clear, if you're receiving any income from your pension then you must declare this to UC and it will reduce your UC £1 for £1.
A pension is a pension pot is ignored until you reach state pension age but if you access any income from it, it will affect your UC.

Hi @poppy123456
Question was why I must provide Private Pension statement to prove if I receive/not receive Personal Pension.
I'm under 55 and at this moment can't claim Personal Pension at all. As well I don't meet circumstances under that I can receive Personal Pension early (before 55).
UC office clearly knows legislation regarding Personal Pension payments as well they clearly knows that I not receive Personal Pension.
So why I must prove that I not entitled to?
Of course there no problem to send annual statement from Personal Pension provider, but why?
Grounds "we want to see statements" - absolutely not fit for purpose.
