Hi, I maybe applying for ill health retirement in the near future. I can’t seem to get a straight answer on working in the future from my pension provider. I have a defined contribution pension. They say I will be medically retired from my current position with my current employer. But I can work again in a different role. I work as a research scientist, does that mean I can no longer work as a research scientist for any other company in the future, even if the hours were part time instead of full time, or the job title was different?
my current job involves a few hours commute a day which I can’t physically manage much longer, I may not be able to work in the future, if I can it will only be part time. I just want to know my options before proceeding.0 -
It really depends on your pension providers rules / T&C
You need to ask for the rules before applying for IHR
If they won't tell you - you need to ask your employers HR section
I don't believe that any pension provider can prevent you from ever working again in a different role for a different employer !
