Every month i go to have injections in both my eyes due to maculopathy. I take the day off as sick and if my eyes are not better next day i also take that day off as sick. now my employer wont allow me to take as sick. I even said i'll take off my annual leave but even that wasn't agreed to. What do i do?

Hi @Gulshan77, welcome to the community. Sorry to hear you're having a tough time with your employers.

Have you spoken to ACAS at all? They can be really helpful with this sort of thing:

Acas | Making working life better for everyone in Britain

Your injection days might come under a reasonable adjustment as it is a health issue. There's a page about this here:

Reasonable adjustments at work | Disability charity Scope UK

Do your employers have a HR department, or do you have to speak directly with your boss?

A had to have a meeting with my line manager and a member from HR team. My line manager, who had approved my days off as sick said 'that's not sustainable going forward'.

First he approves it and then that's what he says? My health conditions, medications and treatments were all discussed before I was offered the job itself.

Sorry to hear that @Gulshan77 that does sound like a difficult situation. Contacting ACAS would definitely be a good idea here, they might be able to talk through your rights and give you some advice on the next steps. Do they provide you with any other reasonable adjustments to do your job?

If you haven't already, it's often good to get what you've requested in writing, along with any responses from HR or your line manager. Having some written records (these can be digital as well. For example, emails or documents) is often very useful if you need information for building a case.

Are you a member of a trade union? They can also help with these types of issues.
