Help please. LCWRA, shall I complain this wasn't done earlier ?
Hello
Can someone help advise please ...
I was awarded lwc in 2022 .. in may 2023 I started to ask about reassessment due to worsening of conditions they told me to supply a fit note which I done. They then told me again to wait for reassessment. I asked every phone call .. how long .. how long .. they told me to wait . Finally in July 2024 I pushed enough for reassessment. I was awarded lwrca then last week again after having to chase for assessment again.. shall I complain this wasn't done earlier ? What can I do please ? Feel extremely let down and out done

Was it a delay by the work coach referring you, a long wait for an appointment after returning the UC50, or a bit of both?

More the long wait for the reassessment

If you continued to provide fit notes without any gaps from when you were asked to that they yes you should have been referred for another WCA.
As you reported changes to your health condition then the extra money would be paid from the assessment period in which you reported the changes, regardless of how long the process actually took. (assuming there were no gaps in your fit notes)
The extra money should be included in your next statement and money owed will be paid as a separate payment. This can take quite a few weeks for them to calculate what is owed and to pay it.
Have they told you when the extra money is paid from? They often get this wrong and sometimes they tell you there's a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods, which is incorrect. There's no waiting period when going from LCW to LCWRA.

I wasn't told to upload on going fit notes just to provide one of worsening of conditions.. which I done. I wasn't told .. even after asking on every appointment.. to keep uploading fit notes. Just told to tell about worsening and wait for reassessment which never come until I pushed and asked to speak to someone else 😞

You said you were awarded LCWRA element back in July, is that correct? Has the element been included in your statements since then?
If you're claiming UC with a partner that already receives this element on your claim then you won't be entitled to the extra money because only 1 person per claim can receive that extra.

No , new uc50 form filled in July. Award letter this week. No amount added to statement as yet as not due statement yet. Not a couple. Single.
My question is more about the time it has taken to reassess when asked about it consistently for over a year.. with told to just wait . Missed out all this time because told to wait . Not given any info to upload consist fit notes , only told to do the one

Then at the moment you don't have anything to complain about. A decision maker will need to put the award into payment first and make a decision on when the extra money is paid from, if they accept that you didn't provide fit notes the whole time.
If they accept it then it should be paid from the assessment period in which you report the changes. Money owed usually takes quite a few weeks to pay it but once it's done you'll receive a letter on your journal telling you how much is owed and it will be paid into your bank.
When you have your next statement you need to check to see if the element is included. Unless your statement is due in the next few days or so and then they may not have enough time to include the extra money this month.
If you don't hear anything in the next couple of weeks put a message onto your journal to ask about the money that's owed. You'll need to put the message under the payment section.
