It won't ever effect PIP.
It won't ever effect Contributions Based ESA.
It will effect Income Related ESA, the money will count as capital after 12 months.
Until then it is disregarded.
It's not the group for ESA that counts, it's whether your ESA is CB, IR, or CB with an IR top up.
Do you get the £10 Christmas Bonus with your ESA?

I think so yes

If you get the Christmas Bonus, then your ESA is Contributions Based with an Income Related top up.

oh right I looked on my bank statement from last year I got £10 from pip on 13th December dounno if that was Christmas bonus or not

No that is the PIP Christmas Bonus.
To get the ESA Christmas Bonus, you would recieve an extra £10 bundled in with one of your December ESA payments.

then I guess I don’t get it with esa

If you don't get the ESA Christmas Bonus, then your ESA is all Income Related.
Therefore your CICA payment will be disregarded for one year.
After a year, it will count towards your capital.
You can read information about ESA savings limits here

so do I not need tell them for a year? Or tell them but they won’t affect my benefits for a year? Time then I’ll have under 6k anyway by end next year as it’s going in bills and a holiday

There's only one Christmas bonus, regardless of how many qualifying benefits you're claiming.
