Mandatory reconsideration DLA child

I have just been awarded HR for care and LR mobility for my child. However it has only been for a year. Can I ask for a mandatory reconsideration just for the date? Her needs are not going to reduce in 2 years time and she has a full diagnosis so I’m not sure why it’s only for a year! Thanks

Yes you can challenge the decision on the length of time. They will look at the whole award again though but mostly MR decisions remain the same. Please make sure you put the request in writing stating why you think the award should have been for a longer period of time. If you're happy with the actual award itself you should also make that very clear.
