in Universal Credit (UC)

Hello all

I rang UC up today about the LCWRA as I didn't get another letter…. She told me from UC i would only get a second letter if i was owed any back payments which I'm not going to get any backpayment on LCWRA which you was wright and thank you for that.....then I was ask did I do a switch over on Mangrion I told her yes from income support.…she looked and then said I will get the LCWRA on top of my money…..Plus I will still get the protection for switching from income support and I still get cares element.....don't know if this is true or she wanted to just get me of the phone...my statement is 29th December 2024…and the LCWRA will be on that statement..... payment for LWCRA will be payed 5th January just have to wait and see or is this true

    Having looked back at your previous threads I see you were given some advice regarding this on there. Please see thread.

    To recap that thread. Your Transitional Protection is £600 and I also see that you're also receiving the carers element for yourself. This means that you will lose that carers element because the same person can't receive that and the LCWRA element at the same time.

    Your TP will also decrease by £416.19/month. Unfortunately, this does mean that you will be £198.31/month worse off when the LCWRA element is included due to the removal of the carers element.

    This should be from your payment on 5th Feb 2025. Please be aware that when you ring the UC helpline they are call centre staff who have very little knowledge of the benefits system and you should rely on the advice they give.

    Thanks for that in my Journal it says this so i get the LCWRA in my payment January.…no backpay ...so yes you was right about the other I don't know as it was a phone call.…I will find out on my statement on the 29th December 2024

    In your case, you were awarded LCWRA on the 29 August 2024. The Assessment Periods are as follows…AP: 29 August to 28 September 2024 – (1st Clear AP)AP: 29 September to 28 October 2024 – (2nd Clear AP)AP: 29 October to 28 November 2024 – (3rd Clear AP)AP: 29 November 2024 to 28 December 2024(You will start receiving LCWRA in this AP) – Statement PAY DATE: 5 January 2025
