Hi everyone.

I have been on ESA contributions based for about 14 years. I spoke to ESA and they informed me I will be due a review in April 2025, which is fair enough. I have progressing MS. It's awful. My question is will I have to reapply like I did all those years ago or if everything OK, do I stay in Contributions Based ESA and carry on. I'm confused 😕

You'll be sent an ESA50 form to fill in, and probably an assessment appointment as most people have them.

Your payments continue in the meantime.

ESA Support Group is an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. Although you've been advised that your next review is April 2025, this doesn't mean you will definitely be reviewed at that time. The timescale they give is just a guide and ringing them to ask them when your next review is, is never very helpful because there's no guarantee that you will be reviewed at that time.

For the majority of people in the Support Group and LCWRA assessments have been suspended since 2020 and very few people have been reviewed in that time.

I understand but will I be taken off CC ESA to join IR ESA or can I continue on my award of CC ESA as normal (all assuming the review is fine)

If all is fine with the review then your current award continues and you stay on CB ESA.
