Pip phone consultation
I've just received a text message saying I have a phone consultation on the 9th Jan. I'm not very good on the phone at all. It doesn't say how long it will last or give me any other information. Can someone be with me during the call as I often need prompting or questions reworded so I can understand them. I think no one can really get a feel for the person when they are on the other end of a phone, they can't see your struggles and may not even hear them.

It can last anything from 20 to 120 minutes sometimes longer. They may not call on time so try not to worry if this happens.
Yes you can have someone with you during the assessment. You can put the phone onto loud speaker if needed.
If you prefer a face to face assessment then you can change it to that and then you would need to attend an assessment centre.

Just finished my PIP assessment. The lady was lovely, she is a mental health nurse and previously was a cpn. She told my mum she could answer and ask any questions when she felt she needed to, this was so helpful as I tend to forget or not mention things I should. She had read my previous forms and the form I had sent in this time, so she already had a good understanding of my problems. Overall this was the best pip experience I have ever had and this lady was so understanding of my conditions which helped a lot
