Form was returned in September I think and still no contact from pip. The longer this goes on the more I think I not going to get it again. I working 10 hours a week and receiving Lcrwa higher amount and UC. My neighbour recently been rejected so that's made me worse I think and she now in a terrible state. Is anyone else still waiting for pip decision and if so how do you cope with the waiting. Thank you

There's extremely long delays with PIP reviews for the majority of people. For my recent review I waited almost 12 months from receiving the form to having a decision.

The length of time it takes is no indication of what the decision will eventually be, it's because of the backlogs. My PIP award increased from standard and Enhanced to Enhanced for both parts.

Your current PIP award will continue until a decision is made on the review. If no decision is made by the time your award is due to end it will be extended for up to 1 year. You will receive a letter nearer the time to tell you it's been extended.

Yes, the wait is very stressful. How did I cope? Well, I did everything I could not to think about it. I concentrated on other things rather than the review. I appreciate that not everyone can do this but please try because otherwise it's going to be a very long wait. You may also receive some texts with updates if you gave them a mobile number but those texts are just standard texts and nothing to worry about.

You may also need an assessment before a decision is made. These are mostly by telephone. If one is needed you will be contacted.

I returned my review forms at the beginning of March and got a text just before Christmas to say my review was complete. The letter arrived on Saturday and my award has stayed the same for another 4 years. As far as I’m aware my review was dealt with by DWP only and not sent to the assessment providers at all.

I pleased you have a answer and for the next 4 years. Thank you Poppy you always reply so promptly and elegantly thank you . I will try to put to this out of my mind. I think it's with reduced hours at work with pain getting worse the pip payment means everything to me. But I must be positive about this as we all face ongoing reviews. Thank you all

You're welcome and thank you! Mine was also paper based and not sent to the assessment providers. My current award is for 6 years, my longest award I've had.

For extra information, review forms are usually sent to the decision maker first, from there they will look at your form and any other information they have and try to make a decision without needing to send it to the assessment providers.

Sometimes the decision maker may ring you if they have any questions to ask. If they do ring, you will not be warned before they do that. This happened to me and he wanted to ask me just 1 question, which I answered. The call lasted for about 5 minutes. He then told me that he would be making his decision by the following day and true to his word he did.

If they ring it's usually from an 0800 number.

my review papers had to be in by May and got a phone call to clarify a couple of things just before Christmas. I got the odd text just advising me of delays, but it does make you wonder and worry when it’s taking so long. Fortunately she had 2 questions for me which increased my payments.

I made a new claim in September. I had my video appointment on Fri Dec 13th and now the assessor who did my assessment is being assessed causing more delays. Once this is done the assessor hands the case back to the DWP who will make their decisions which could mean another 8 weeks. I am in the low capacity to work group due to health conditions but getting no extra money because my conditions started after 2017.

New claims tend to be quicker with decisions than reviews. Yes, sometimes report are chosen for audit, perfectly normal when the assessor is new.

According to the minister, average wait is about 10 months. So you have a while to go yet.
