Will I still get lcrwa when changing from esa support group?

No that's not true.
You'll be entitled to LCWRA (ESA SG equivalent) automatically from the beginning of your claim. It does often take a few weeks to confirm.

thank you
That’s a relief!
It’s a managed migration next month.
Do you know what happens to my sdp please?

The SDP will end as it's not payable under UC.
You will get Transitional Protection, so at the time of transfer you won't be financially worse off.
TP does erode over time as other elements go up or new elements are added.

is this like a monthly payment on top of us then please?

Universal Credit is a benefit made up of different elements. Transitional Protection will be one of those on your UC award.

Managed migration for those claiming Income Related ESA is anytime between now and end of December.
You need to wait until you receive the letter before you claim.

I have the letter, it’s next month

I have received a migration letter, and have to move from IR ESA by May 3rd.
I realised I should have been receiving SDP since 2011ish. So phoned ESA on 17th December, and the man filled in the form, over the phone.
Obviously it's been new year and christmas in-between, but I havnt heard anything yet, shall I phone on Monday, or wait a bit?

If I don't get SDP before I migrate, I will lose entitlement to backpay.

No you will not. Not claiming it for all those years is a very long time so the decision is going to take longer than it usually does for any money that's potentially owed.
Going forward if you're entitled then the decision on that should be made quicker.
If there's entitlement going forward then I'd advise you to wait until after the new tax year to claim UC because when there's entitlement to Transitional Protection this erodes over time, when other elements increase or your become entitled to other elements. With the benefits increase this year the TP will erode by the same amount, which is why I'd advise you to wait.

Thankyou Poppy.
When does the new Tax year start please? When I said 'should I phone them today' I meant should I phone ESA to check if my application for SDP was on their system.
I read that once the form had been filled in (I phoned ESA on 17th December and completed the form over the phone) ESA have 6 working days to process the claim, but I have also read that previously, forms filled in over the phone have been lost in the system.

Benefits increase from 8th April. For those claiming UC the first increase will be for those with assessment periods that start on or after 8th April. For this reason you shouldn't claim UC until at least 8th April. (if you're entitled to SDP)
You can ring ESA anytime to ask if there's any updates for the SDP. There's more chance of a form getting lost in the post than there is filling it in over the phone, unless the agent you spoke to didn't fill out the form.
Please also remember that there were also closing days for Xmas and the New Year so that will delay the decision making process. Since you filled out the form there's only been about 9 working days.

Thankyou once again. I hope that your advice also helps other that (like me😅) are ploughing through the internet, to find ever elusive answers 😂
For that reason (although everybody's case is usually slightly different) I will keep posting updates.
