PIP Review Capita
I have been claiming pip for over 3 years now, I get standard daily living and enhanced mobility which I have a car on the mobility scheme
When I fist applied for pip I was unsuccessful went all the way to tribunal and lost.
After a few years I reapplied for pip but didn't get any points but still took it to tribunal which I finally won and was awarded.
I had my letter for a pip review back in November 2023 and sent off my forms now today January 2025 I had a letter from CAPITA giving me a telephone assessment for just under 2 weeks times.
I suffer anxiety and am now in a state of panic about this, I remember the other assessments I had and they took so much out of me, I have never had a review before so no idea what to expect, it's been over a year since filling out the review forms and a long wait for this but I can't help but think that this assessment will fail as have all others and I will lose my pip and my car which is something that I use for appointments etc. I would be back to square one not able to leave my home.
Is there anyone that has been through this?
Can you appeal a review?
Does pip stop as soon as the review fails?
If I do a mandatory reconsideration does my pip still pay while I'm waiting?
Sorry its a long question but
Struggling to find any answers.
Thank you

Hi,
The review works in the same way as the original assessment. If you disagree with the decision then you can do a Mandatory Reconsideration, and if you still disagree with the MR you can then go on to tribunal.
I'm afraid PIP does stop immediately if the review fails, and it will not continue to be paid while you go through MR and tribunal if you lose the whole award. Though you would still get paid if it gets downgraded to a lower award.

Heya @Beanie88 and welcome to the community. 😊
I can see you've already received the answers above, but I just wanted to stop in and say hello and best of luck with your review.
Please try not to worry too much about the assessment, they'll just be asking you questions to get a better idea about how your issues affect you day to day. Just take your time, dont let them rush you and ask for breaks if you need them. I always find writing down some bullet points of things I think are important, that way you wont forget on the day.
