Carers allowance/carers element
hi I work full time I get higher pip for both advanced and mobility my wife is currently not working(on maternity) she only gets 750 pounds a month from government not her work place as didn’t qualify I get around 1580 from work
We are struggling to get by as when she was working the income was double and expenditures is high is she able to claim carers allowance for me or element I’m confused and was sure with her getting maternity pay?

Your wife would not be able to receive both carers allowance and maternity allowance at the same time because they are treated as overlapping benefits.
I see you asked about UC in a recent previous thread. I’d advise you to put both of your details into a benefits calculator to check entitlement to UC. Her maternity allowance would be deducted in full from any UC entitlement. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/benefits-calculator/
If the benefits calculator shows some entitlement then she can report being your carer and your UC will include carers element.
Carers element isn’t a benefit on its own, it’s part of Universal Credit.
Edit to add, some other threads suggest that you were claiming UC in the past. Are you and your partner still claiming this?
