I have no home at all now.It just appears the second Hall socket is wired through to the main socket.I am not sure for it's purpose but perhaps once I have full fibre they can do away with this

@OverlyAnxious but you must have a relatively long cable from the O.N.T box which brings the fibre into your property?.

Mine isn't full fibre. The last few metres along the path and inside my property are still copper. But the router works in exactly the same way.
There needs to be one cable in to the router from outside. But then all of the devices that connect to the router inside can be wireless (Wi-Fi).

We have Virgin Media's full fibre (a fairly new product for the areas they haven't previously served) and it works brilliantly with no drop outs. Several other companies are also building full fibre here including Openreach so the choice will be much wider than before.
