About uc claim

just wondered me amd my partner have a joint uc claim and he works 32 hours a week I work 8 hours and I claim carers allowance and dla for 2 kids my question is I may be loosing my job as the place may be closing very soon due to not making enough money if I lost my job would my partner be made to work more hours as he only brings home £1,253 a month amd I know as a couple it needs to be £1,400 odd can’t remember the exact amount . Just worried he will be made to have meetings to look for more hours or as I don’t have to work would the expected amount he earns go down as only him working and I don’t have commitments

As you're a carer claiming carers allowance/ carers element of UC then you have no work commitments. Your partners AET will be based on single person, which is £892/month.
Does the child that you don't claim carers allowance for received DLA mid/high rate care? If so does your partner claim carers element of UC for looking after them? (assuming they are also not claiming the LCWRA element for theirself) There's no earnings limit to this like there is with carers allowance.
Just to also make sure that your UC include carers element for yourself? Assuming you're not receiving the LCWRA element for yourself. Carers allowance is a separate benefit that's deducted in full from any UC entitlement.

Cheers for that that has made a lot of worry go away knowing that ,he doesn’t claim carers element no it’s just me that claims as I didn’t know he could and no one told me he could my child is on middle rate. Do I need to get on to uc and ask them about it and yeah I claim carers allowance for one of my kids

He will need to log into his journal and click "report a change" then from the list find "caring for someone" and report it through there. As a carer he will have no work commitments.

I didn’t know he could do that as he earn to much for carers allowance I didn’t think he was entitled to carers element I though u got them both together and it doesn’t matter he works 32 hours a week he can still get carers element

Carers Allowance is a separate benefit to UC. This has an earnings limit.
Carers Element is part of Universal Credit. This doesn't have an earnings limit.
So while he can't claim CA for child 2 he can claim CE.

just had a message for uc saying my partner need to look for more hours I get carers allowance and he earns 1,313 a month but they saying it’s not enough for a joint claim but I thought he only had to earn what a single person would earn it’s so annoying as no one tells u anything about this from uc as they don’t seem to know anything . Just wanted to check he only need to earn what a single person would earn as I have no work commitments it was fine when I was working but now I lost my job they have decided he not earning enough getting worried now as he can’t get any more hours
