False articles which (intentionally or unintentionally) cause alarm, distress etc.

@ased444 it’s really hard when you’re worried about your future and are desperate to know what’s happening, many of us feel the same and I’m sorry you feel the stress too. Xx You’ve done nothing wrong by sharing those views x

Just logged into my computer and straightaway saw 2 more clickbaits saying that LCWRA and PIP are being replaced or scrapped !!

I'll be glad when they finally make their minds up and tell us what they're actually going to do rather then having all the rumours that are flying around now.

I've had a gutful of it. It's just causing misery for vulnerable people.

Saw an article on sky news about labour calling out ageism, thought it only right to email the MP & point out her parties behaviour towards the disabled is just as bad

@stressed76 Yep Labour's view of ageism = they don't want employers discriminating/being ageist as Labour would have us all working until we're 80.

I saw that, the Equalities Minister. As you told her, there's plenty of inequalities for the deaf and disabled - why isn't she shouting about that? At least old people (generally) have the sympathy of society as a whole.

The daily mail is using the times article on their site about Rachel Reeves cutting 5 billion from disability oriented benefits including scrapping the LCWRA.

The Conservative aligned press really have a perverse vendetta against disabled people, this isn't about "tough love" it's about cowards who punch down and I try to ignore it but like the sword of damocles it's always there in the back of my mind.

Labour are no better, Downing Street briefs The Times, Labour officials know damn well what they're doing.

Oh… so that is why Tories were proposing to bring changes in for new claimants rather than all at once? I mean eg things like changes to LCW payments…

"Green paper" is an early stage in discussion of disability benefits in Parliament, sben. It then goes to a vote, and if passes the vote next goes to a "white paper" stage in Parliament, and scrutiny in the Lords.

    Decades not years

For the umpteenth time - please stop worrying about Pip being cut

It wont be and if it was - the government would have such a legal backlash to contend with - they would not survive!!

Many people are worried about PIP, many people on here suffer anxiety too. It doesn’t help to just tell people “don’t worry” because this is their future and there is always a lack of communication to disabled people, so they will worry. I feel for anyone who can’t find peace with this situation because it’s stressful. Instead I show solidarity with all those who feel scared by the unknown.

We are right to worry but worries add another burden on our already burdensome days. I would rather be prepared for what is to come than ignore it until it happens.

I remember spending several years worrying about the change over from DLA to PIP, finally got that done and now it's even more worry about what's going to happen next.

And what makes it worse is that nearly all the news websites are going on about it everyday now.

Hopefully when it happens it wont be as bad as we all think it'll be.

    Hi

If i fill in work capability form and say that i can only work 10 hours a day will i still be able to get lcwra?

Some people do work and get LCWRA, but the form isn't for saying how many hours you can work, it's about how your health affects you in relation to the descriptors.

You need to meet one of the descriptors to get LCWRA https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work-related-activity
