Government plans to spy on bank accounts

Iv'e just signed a petition against this awful new government making plans in the spring budget to have extra powers to spy on all our bank accounts!! It treats us like we're criminals, and is an invasion of our financial privacy, innocent until proven guilty means nothing to Keir Starmer and his cruel DWP, who act like the social security SS or KJB. This policy was apparently defeated a few years ago when the tories tried to do the same thing, but Starmer seems to think he can do what he likes as he has a huge majority. Why does he dislike disabled, sick, and unemployed people so much, what does he have against us?

It seems to be one thing after another everyday about having a go at long term sick, disabled people and the unemployed, making out they are lazy, don't want to work, or not really that sick and to gat a job, because in his eyes that would cure us all!! It's making me very ill wondering what's going to happen next, even though I try to avoid the news as much as I can, and I don't go on social media anymore for that reason as it's fukk of false information and scaremongering. I really do hope someone or maybe a charity like scope, or Ellen Clifford takes the DWP back to court if Staemer tries to push this evil policy through, hopefully he'll get egg on his face again and be defeated.

I really don't think you have anything to worry about. The DWP aren't interested who had a pizza delivered, or went to the bingo.

This is a drive to weed out the minority of fraudsters and any money laundering etc.

It is worrying I think , my mum puts money into my account most days , then I pay her back when my benifits go in to our joint account , this AI approach just throws a one size fits all blanket across everyone

Current policy is a logical continuation of the perception of disability not as a medical problem, but as a social one. It is necessary to correct the social model of disability; it harms many disabled people in the end, in particular by forcing them to work against their desire, without providing compensation for well-being to the level of a healthy person.
