Work capability assessment

Hi guys, I have been providing fit notes for the last 3 months, I was expecting a paper form questionnaire enquiring about my work capability etc I've read this is normal, however I spoke to my job coach and she said that they won't be sending me a form because I've been fast tracked (in her words) straight to the physical assessment? Is this normal? I'm worried. I have read, it could be to do with my health condition but I haven't told them what my health condition is? Unless they have contacted my doctor without me knowing.

    Hi,

If you've been providing fit notes, you must have declared your health condition(s) to UC to trigger that process.

They don't actually ask for the fit note itself, I just log on to UC account and give the dates of fit note and who's issued it. I haven't given them details about my condition.just a bit odd I was expecting the letter first.

They wouldn't request the fit notes if you hadn't declared a health condition to them.

If this is a new claim, or migrating from a legacy benefit, you will have declared it on the first online form.

No, this isn’t normal. You should be referred for a work capability assessment from day 29 after providing your first fit note. Once referred you should receive the UC50 form in the post a few days later.

Your question was answered here. It gets very confusing when asking the same question multiple times on different threads.

What message would you like? As kimmy advised on your thread which I linked above, it sounds like you've had a paper based assessment.

No it means the assessment process is now completed.

Next you need to wait for the decision, a letter will be added to your Journal when this has been made.

Timescales for this are up to 12 weeks but many hear quicker.

Sometimes the assessment provider can decide you do not need an assessment that you attend (whether over the phone or in person) but I have never heard of the form stage being skipped.

Did your work coach give you any information about what this "physical assessment" would be? Have they provided you any details as to who will be providing and carrying out the assessment?

HI there, well in short, August to September I was on normal UC. I then provided fit notes for subsequent months up until now, I asked my job coach about the lwrca form, she said I have been fast tracked to physical assessment no paperwork. Iam in early stages of alcohol recovery having recently been in a detox unit. The job centre don't know the details of my condition ie: what the fit notes are actually for, so unless they have contacted my doctor without telling me, it can't be due to my illness which is what I read.i havnt received any details of when and where my assessment will take place as yet. I'm worried they will just declare me fit for work and this will result in a relapse.

Put another message onto your journal and ask them to refer you for the work capability assessment.
