I seen a live clip of reeve saying benefit fraud costs billions per year in an interview when she was asked why she was soft on non doms but using "tough love" on benefits recipients (a rare interview of sympathy), she is becoming more and more like Mel at this point. Clip may have been doctored, but I dont think it was.

original Salems lot is a classic. I watched the remake a few times . It’s actually not bad just no where as good as original

just heard that the government will not be continuing the Tory plan of sick/fit notes no longer being issued by our GP. According to the times sick notes will continue to be issued by GPs and not the DWP professionals.

I read that the government/ dwp have found that 200,000 sick want to work given support. There’s a report on it but I can’t remember which site now but it looked to me as though Kendall was interested in helping those people get help first . The language seemed softer imo . Hopefully someone on here can give us some more information on this as I’m in bed with the flu so my brains not functioning.

and a good job as well any man who beats his wife or partner should be put to the chair

That is on the benefitsandwork site under the news section.

it sounded to me that they’ll be concentrating on those that want to work and young people. Their language did seem softer to me . At least I’m hoping that’s the case 🙏

That's been their plan since before the election. But it seems like the media had realised that wouldn't sell papers, so they've turned it into a perceived attack on all disabled people.

if that’s the case then I don’t think they made it very clear IMO. They must have staff who read what’s being said in the media and on forums such as this . At no point have they come out and put my mind at rest . They’ve allowed the green paper to drag on. I think it’s only Ellen Clifford’s court case that’s maybe making them think twice.

i believe the words from the government were if you can or want to try work thats not forcing you if you cant and seems clear to me

Unfortunately we know the media will always deliberately stoke fears with inflammatory articles, but at any point Labour could have done something, anything to reassure us. They have to know how worried people are. Yet they have said nothing, and their silence speaks volumes.

exactly this. It’s only my opinion but I think had Ellen lost labour would have not only continued what the Tory’s started but been worse.
