Hi I am looking for advice please ??

My mum and dad are on a joint claim for income support they have received their dreaded migration notice now I know they will have transitional protection that’s a relief but my worries are what will uc be expecting from them in regards to claimant commitment my mum currently claims carers allowance for caring for my dad they also have a disability premium in their income support how does that work will by dad be automatically put into lcwra they both receive pip due to medical issues including but not limited to my dads copd and also my mums copd now although my mum claims carers allowance for my dad my dad does not claim this for my mum they help each other every day with various things they help each other to manage their disabilities together would this entitle my dad to get the carers element of uc or not it’s just so hard to understand I would love some clarification thank you

I answered one of your other posts.

Migration from Income Support doesn't give any automatic entitlement to LCWRA. The PIP doesn't count for anything either in that regard.

They would be eligible to each claim Carers Element under UC for looking after the other.
