Changing the job centre

Hi everyone, can someone please let me know if they have had issues changing job centres?

I moved from old benefits to UC in October. Recently, I received a response to my UC50, and now I have to attend in person every week. When I was on the old benefits, I changed my job centre to one outside my borough, which was much easier to travel to by bus. I would like to switch back to the same job centre I used before.

At the beginning of my claim, I requested the change via my journal, but it was ignored. Yesterday, during my meeting at the job centre, I asked again to be moved. The advisor told me that I couldn’t be transferred. I explained that I had done it before, but he became very patronising, so I dropped the subject.

Can someone please let me know if I can attend a job centre outside my borough? Do I need to provide a reason, and who should I contact? Any advice is appreciated.

Hi @DJ17 sorry you've not had a response yet. Has this moved on at all since your original post. I've not experienced this before and when looking in to it, I'm seeing conflicting answers which isn't helpful! It might be worth chasing up your journal question, you can request it's escalated for an answer as well if it's being ignored.
