Chances of receiving LCW or LCWRA?

im 34 male
had a heart attack in 2019 as a result now live with heart disease and take medication for life
I have just been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and now take medication for life
i have asthma on medication for life
i aslo have PTSD, anxiety and depression from being orphaned as a child
I know its not the diagnosis and more how they affect you.
basically my ptsd and anxiey is made worse by my hypothyroidism as hormone levels are up and down
My ptsd causes me to feel stressed out constantly, socially anxious have poor sleep and also very hyper vigilant, panic attack etc
All of this puts added pressure on my heart significantly increasing the risk of another heart attack
I have medical evidence of all diagnosis/events
im just wondering if theres even a small chance i could be found lcwra?
Thanks

Hi,
Have you had a look at the LCWRA descriptors?
Who goes into the Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity (LCWRA) group and how?
You only need to meet one on the list to be awarded LCWRA.
LCW doesn't pay any extra money, so unless you live with a partner or parents, it would be difficult to live off basic rate UC one.

Thanks for replying
i live with my partner and my son 7
ive just read the descriptors you linked and im sure i fall into some its just a bit confusing to understand for me.All my conditions make the other worse so the fluctuations in my thyroid make ptsd and anxiety worse and and then that strains the heart through panic attacks etc
I cant be in a work environment or people as that sends my ptsd through the roof all of which causes heart palpitations and racing heart further increasing the risk of another heart attack
im just wondering if these problems fall under the substantial risk descriptor
Thanks for replying0 -
Potentially substantial risk. They look at the descriptors first and if they think none of those apply they will look at substantial risk. Only 1 descriptor needs to apply for LCWRA.

With the hypothyroidism it may take a few weeks to stabilise the meds but once that is done you shouldn't be too affected by this. I have hypothyroidism and as long as I take the meds and they check your bloods regularly this shouldn't be an issue.
