Hello dear ,

I had a pip telephone assessment for about 2 hours then it's been a 5 weeks I'm still waiting and 2 weeks ago I got letter they said we have all information we need you don't need to contact us .

So is taht normal 5 weeks waiting period?

people said usually if your result was negative they would have said it after 2 weeks.

should I be positive about it!

Decisions can take up to 12 weeks after the assessment report was returned. There’s no timescales after that letter. Once a decision is made you will be contacted.

It doesn’t mean anything other than you’ve had no decision yet.

Has your friend had a decision letter yet? That seems extremely quick to actually have the decision on the same day as the assessment. Only a decision maker from DWP can make the decision.

He said same day they asked him by textor email if you not agreed do reconsider decision and we will send you the letter to explain why you not accept.

    Hello again ,

    today I had a text

We tried to call you about your Personal Independence Payment claim but couldn't contact you. Please call us on 0800 121 4433 between 9am to 4pm by 17/02/2025.

they already have all information they need they confirmed it by letter.

after 5 week of my assessment they did try to reach me I couldn't answer the phone I was sleeping.

I get stressed and I don't know what is that .they call me today on Saturday.its weird to me .can you please tell me what is that?

They often work on Saturdays. I'm afraid I can only guess why they want to speak to you. As the number they've asked to ring is the PIP helpline then you will need to ring them on Monday when they open because they are not open on weekends.

Thank you for your explanation. Actually, I’m also unsure why they contacted me. Do you think it might be because they need more information or further clarification? Or could there be an issue with my assessment? I’m really worried that there might be a problem due to a delay in responding or some other reason. If you could provide more details, it would be really helpful

I can't give you any information because I can only guess why they rang you. They clearly need to ask you questions but what questions, I have no idea. I'm sorry I can't be more specific than this but I don't work for DWP. They open at 9am on Monday and this is often the best time to ring so please try then.

Hello again to following our conversation I did call today and they asked me if I can manage a large amount of money, along with confirming my National Insurance Number, bank details, and address.

what do you think do I reward pip I didn't get any text or letter to confirm!

is that good sign this question because It's been 6months

Hi @Samth1371, these are fairly standard questions to check everything is okay and confirm your details should they need to send you your payments. Hopefully you'll hear more about whether you've been awarded soon.

Are you hoping to receive some back pay from your claim or just the standard payments?

    Ho Rosie

actually It's been 6 months now since I applied for pip it was my first time and I think they would pay back payment for 6 months that's why they asked me about if I can manage the large of money and this call was after 6 weeks of my assessment.

but I didn't get any text to confirm I reward pip .

    That does sound promising @Samth1371

I know you've just called them, but sometimes if you ring the enquiry line they can tell you whether you're due to receive a payment and how much you'll be getting. That can give you an idea of what your award is even if you haven't received confirmation of anything yet.

Not everyone gets a text when they are awarded PIP.

Fingers crossed you get the outcome soon, and are happy with it. 😊
