working

I think after my next lot treatment / therapy for my MH I might like to try and find part time job (2-3 days a week ), to see if it’s helps me. What happens if you get full pip? Would I just call and tell them I’m working part time? I know you can work and get pip but if it’s full pip for both parts maybe I need to tell them ? I know with LCWRA I need to report on journal and they deduct when I go over allowance I’m just confused about pip if it enhanced rate ?

Hi @letitbe that sounds exciting! 🤗 PIP is means tested so can be claimed whilst working but I'd recommend informing DWP as they expect any change to circumstances to be reported.

Thx holly , so would they just send me a new form to fill in ?

Hi @letitbe To be honest I'm not sure what paperwork they'll require but you can contact the helpline to inform them of the change and they'll be able to advise from there. I've added the contact detail below for ease 🙂
PIP enquiry line
Telephone: 0800 121 4433
Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Best wishes,

thx I had a read through . Are you still working and do you still receive pip / LCWRA ?
I’m more concerned about pip, someone said you don’t need to tell pip about starting work but if I did start work I’m not sure because I get high rate for both on MH . Like you I want to do everything right . If I did start part time it would be quite a while off, maybe late this year and like you there’s no way I could work full time , it would be 3 days a week maximum. Will have to wait and see how I feel later this year , don’t want to pressure myself atm though, my MH has been really unstable for months again , last thing I want is to put pressure on myself and have another breakdown and end up back in hospital0 -
No you don't need to tell them about PIP. They already know you get pip anyway.
I still get PIP/LCWRA, any work I do is automatically picked up by the DWP systems and anyt deductions automatically come off my award
