Harder and harder to keep fighting

I have fibromyalgia and ME, arthritis in both shoulders and knee, the Dr said I need a replacement shoulder, but consultant says I will wear it out too soon, and he only does people who will not try and be too active, I’m constantly fighting Fibromyalgia pain, and I have lost the battle at the moment, pain consultant had me on wonderful medication, but had to withdraw it due to costs (he said the excuse he had to tell patients was it was too dangerous) however it’s still available privately wih the same consultant if I can afford it! I’m exhausted the pain wakes me up, the meds shut me down, the world becomes grey, I’m soo tired of this endless circle

Hi @horsefodder Welcome to the Community. I am so very sorry you are having such a difficult time. Did your consultant explain what he meant by "people who will not try and be too active" ? Should we not all be trying to be as active as we can.
Has your consultant come up with Care Plan for you? He just seems to be giving very negative signals.
If you have any questions please ask. Take care.

Hello, and thank you, it’s an endless mind game, I managed to get through last night, and some sleep, but I just can’t think straight, even sentences take thought, it’s a hard choice, but I can’t have a life on these meds, I tell my big friend when it all gets too much, he is a good listener, and always knows when I struggling

People don't have to be active - that's a myth. People should feel comfortable. For me, the absolute connection is “movement is pain, immobility is the absence of pain.”

I’m still here, just about, is there any live chat on here, just sometimes it would be nice to talk, I’m really not doing that great, waking up every morning to pain is really dragging me down, I lie there thinking “****, not again, can I wait for painkillers to act before I need to get up and use the bathroom “ it the same thing every day, it’s like an abusive relationship, as soon as I open my eyes it starts, sometimes I wake up multiple times in the night, and then it’s more painkillers just to get some rest, I continually feel exhausted, but have to get through the day, just to be woken up the next morning with the same again, the wonderful government decided the treatment I was receiving and had had 13 treatments, was soo dangerous they withdrew it, however if I go private I can still receive it if I can afford private treatment……..And tomorrow is another morning

Scope doesn't offer any live chat.

Sorry you're having such a rough time @horsefodder. Unfortunately we don't offer a live chat but there's usually someone about if you need to talk. How are things this morning? Hope you managed to get some rest overnight 💜

Sorry to hear that @horsefodder , have you talked to anyone about how you're feeling at the moment?
If you feel like you'd like some extra support, you could try Shout. They offer text conversations if you just want to chat in real time to someone:

It’s the lack of support at the right time, trying to get an appointment takes two weeks, so meanwhile it’s struggling on pain killers and the side effects they bring, thanks I will have a look at shout
