Experiences with a personal assistant?

Hi everyone!
I've been working with a development worker for some time and did a strengths and needs assessment a few months ago and we have kept talking about potentially getting a personal assistant, but I'm really unsure on it and I was looking for advice. My view is a little bit someone or muitple people of different roles would be more helpful if that makes sense. From a lot of information I can find online about personal assistants it all seems the same and I want to know do anyone has had or has one what exactly can or do they do? I don't really need help toileting or with washing, but I do with a lot of other things, I can't really do things around the house, I struggle with my pets without help, i struggle with shopping a lot of the time etc. So sometimes to me people like a cleaner, pet help and stuff like that as individual stuff is better but apparently the council are less likely look at that stuff even though it costs them a lot less.
I would be really grateful just to hear peileks experiences to help be figure this stuff out
