Paper based pip assessment

can anyone help me understand a paper bases pip assessment.
I had a telephone assessment a few weeks ago and they rang me and told me that I would be reassessed as they didn’t have enough information… I went on to have a meltdown on the phone and disconnected the call. then they rang me back and offered me a paper based assessment because I was in so much distress… I don’t know what a paper based assessment is or if they will be able to gather enough information from my GP Etc to complete. Can anyone give me some advice who’s gone through similar. I am I a panic. Thanks

A paper based assessment is where you don't have a full length assessment.
Instead the claimant has minimal or no further input, the assessor uses the information you gave including the form, they do contact GP's occasionally but that is quite rare.
For my PIP paper based assessment, I had a random call from the assessor where she asked me just a few questions.

I'd expect they would now use everything they already have.
Sorry I didn't realise you'd had a normal assessment then they wanted more information.
