I have a degenerative disc problem with alot of pain through out my body and its getting worse with age.

I am 59 years almost and have been getting PIP for around 6 years for this. It was caused by a accident at work over 30 years ago so my doctor has told me. I have always worked but do live on my own. PIP payments are being used to help pay for bills on my home, have no other form of income except savings being used. I have been told now that I am starting to loose the use of my hands and eyesight also going.

Just read that my condition is on the list for a reason for my PIP payments to stop if DWP and the **** reeves, sorry for my words but it is how I feel about her, get their way. Do not understand when there is a £8 billion pound tax fraud going on and the Government can afford and have the cheak to broadcast the fact to help finance Ukraine. Now I am OK with them doin that part but there is a principal to the Governments actions.

I am also Autistic so very worried about this.

What you've read is media speculation.

Labour have not released a list of conditions they will no longer pay PIP for.

Ignore hyped up, factually incorrect media stories about crack downs, fast track changes etc.

Next month Labour will release a Green paper.

Green Paper: These are our plans, what do you think.

    Consultation and feedback.

Then they release a White Paper.

White Paper: These are our proposals

Then the long legal process, going through both houses of parliament, delayed by any court challenges, amendments proposed by the House of Lords.

    Then they finally become law.

The whole process takes years, and what eventually becomes law is usually a watered down version of the Green paper.

Hi @Steamatanic and welcome to the community! 🙂 @Kimmy87 is right, there's a lot of speculation in the media which is having an impact on a lot of people unfortunately. Looking forward to some clarity when this initial paper is released but it will be a long process.

Hello thankyou very much for your comments and for welcoming me to Scope.

It has reasured me for the moment, my doctor and mental health visitor has said to stop reading the online news as it is affecting me.

It does not help to live alone, although I do have family, their views about benefits are that you should not get them and should work.

I am afraid that I disagree with them so you can imagin that we get along but do not at the same time.

In 2020 I lost my father who lived in New Zealand and last year I lost my mother also to Dementia. I know about the benefit system in New Zealand and when I spoke to the Solicitor there who I used for my Fathers proceedings she has never heard of the system this Government has proposed should they use the so called New Zealand rule of thumb for the changes to the state system. In New Zealand they pay a benefit in the form of money to a disabled person it is not and never has been stopped to certain people who are listed as disabled with certain health issues.

I read online that the defence bill is £57 billion and the welfare bill is £63 billion, the only reason why the defence bill is so low is due to cut backs by the Government. A NATO General actually stated that if Britain went to war we only have military capability for 6 months.

The reason why the welfare bill is at £63 billion is due to the factors immigration more foriegn

people are getting it and rises each year to the benefits passed by the Government and most importantly population growth with British people.

It has been also noted by me that the DWP admitted that in every £15.00 welfare money they have made a mistake by £2.00, contributing to the welfare bill being £63 billion a year.

If the Government new that there was indeed to be a problem with the benefits bill surely they could of put a cap on the rises. At least all of us would still have and would continue to have our money.

Its also a well known fact that many people who complain regarding us getting a benefit from the state system, ie self employed are actually frauding the state being paid cash for ding jobs and not declaring it to HMRC which is causing a £8 billion a year tax fraud.

The Government never seem to condem these people in society do they and they never condem themselves for the fact that they pay themselves bonuses and use the VAT on all our electric bills and gas to finance their holiday homes.

As you all can see I have a lot to say about this but I feel I need to say it to some one.
