Bicep Tendonitis

I have this extremely painful condition - to start with, everybody assumed that I had revolver cuff problems but after 3 years (misdiagnosed by consultants etc) - it was finally correctly diagnosed as arthritis of both shoulders - with associated bicep tendonitis - which is caused by the tendons swelling up and catching on nerves and bones !

My shoulder joints need replacing but the consultant is unwilling to do the op - because I use my shoulders too much, due to other issues (knee replacement due to arthritis in my knees) - meaning that after any op - the joint would probably fail soon after……..The joint needs 3 months of total rest in order to fix itself - my physio suggested a care home for 3 months - Where everything is done for me (hoists etc)- but the consultant (NHS) won't pay for this. Could cost upwards of £30k.

So - its down to pain management - I am on NAPROXEN and CODEINE - But this doesn't stop my shoulders from freezing or come close to touching the pain…

What can I do ?

Sorry - but there appears to be no evidence as to how Extracorporeal therapy works - so I will not be a guinea pig !

My wife does not understand how much pain I am in due to my shoulders

They often (many times a day) cause me to freeze with pain, I am unable to move anything at all - my wife shouts and screams at me "RELAX" - Something that I struggle to do in the best of times and is impossible with someone screaming at me….

I just swore at her - she has gone upstairs to the bedroom in a huff !

I really don't know what's going to happen - will my shoulders continue to deteriorate ?

If so - What can I do about the pain - which is already unmanageable

My GP will not offer any stronger pain killers !
