Garden Ideas

I’ve been in my bungalow about 5 months now and finally got the inside just about sorted so it’s now time to start thinking about the outside!

I know absolutely nothing about plants etc so am looking to those in the know for ideas/advice on what I can do to brighten up my flagged area and dismal looking fence.

Pics from my kitchen window and looking back from fence to window,I have just jet washed it but needs doing again.

Front door to gate and back to door.

It’s bigger than it looks so will need quite a few planters but that’s my thinking also, not knowing anything about plants flowers etc though is where do I start?

    What type of plants etc?

i would imagine thats a little sun trap plants that die back in the winter but give a good show in the summer agapanthus are very hardy and drought tolerant they like being pot bound so cram them in tight for best show dahlia one of my favourite will die back as well i leave mine in the planters in the winter lots of bedding plants for summer show couple of hanging baskets on the posts to give the appearance of height the world is your oyster

Ooh that looks fab, i do love a blank canvas!

Hanging baskets are always good, especially if you put some trailing plants in them. I personally love some trailing pansies, just for some pops of colour. Just by the house looks perfect for a couple of raised flower bed planters, as said before, the extra height really helps. then you can scatter some other pots around so there'll be plenty to draw the eye. Maybe some lavender, or some herbs, just to get the lovely smells too?
