Capita: why 2nd assessment?

The capita went to my houss for my 1st assessment with an interpreter (changed from DLA to PIP in 2019). Five years later, my PIP review form last year 2024, with support from my deaf centre who fill form for me, all put "no change".

I don't know why the Caputa want me do the 2nd assessment, will be SignVideo(interpreter) on Tuesday 4th March. Should I complaint it to DWP by email?

Because I am still profoundly deaf, have speech difficulties, learning and developmental difficulties, and an sight-impaired(Usher syndrome)/night blind. These conditions are permanent. It's incurable; I remember the first assessment at home by Capita. The assessor said, "You might be cured in the future." That's impossible!

I have an eye test appointment at the hospital at the end of March (I need an updated record from 2013!).

    Hi,

Unfortunately putting 'no change' is the worst thing we can do on a review form. The centre helping you with this should really have known that.

Everyone can be reviewed for PIP at any time. It does not matter if you deem your disabilities to be permanent or not. So for this reason there is nothing to complain to DWP about, this is just standard procedure.

Will you be able to manage the assessment through SignVideo or are you saying that's not a suitable way for you to communicate with them?

    Hi

Unfortunately it is because "no change" was put on the form and as a result an assessment will be needed to clarify your entitlement as obviously no information was given on your form for them to make decision.

Yes, my centre rang them for me and has already booked with SignVideo (British Sign Language). Tomorrow at 9:15 am. 😬 I'm nervous.
