Ib/cb ESA to UC migration - questions

Hello. I am in the process of doing the online claim form for migration. I have a few questions.
- Will an expired passport suffice for id?
- In my case, when is the earliest they are doing reviews where one has to send statements. What are you hearing? I seen somewhere 10 months. Don't they have a massive covid backlog or something?
- What happens once I have submitted my claim. Maybe a phone call or appointment? How long until?
- When is my first new-style esa payment?
- Do they leave people migrating from esa (support group) alone after everything is setup?
If you can answer any of these questions I'd appreciate it.

2. Those reviews are random, there is no set time. They are financial reviews not medical reassessments, it's the latter that has a backlog.
5.Yes. New claims can be busy with various tasks on the To Do list, but things settle down and the claim basically runs itself in LCWRA (the UC equivalent of ESA Support Group).

- 1. Possibly not. The wording is 'valid passport', and an expired one technically isn't valid. I would still recommend trying it though as a passport is one of the easiest ways to verify ID online.
3. You will receive a message on your journal telling you what will happen next. Usually a Job Centre appointment or a telephone call. It can be within 24 hours, or up to 2 weeks. Depends on the current staff & workload in your area.

hi ive received a text today asking me attend a id appointment tomorrow morning am migrating from esa support group and have severe anxiety what can i do to avoid this stressful appointment.

Unfortunately you can't avoid the appointment, everyone has to verify ID, even when migrating from ESA.
You can ask to have a biographical ID check done over the phone if that would be preferable for you. I would recommend calling UC to ask for that as a journal note may not get through quickly enough.1 -

This part of the migration can be difficult, but it will calm down soon.
You will have a work coach to start with, as it takes a while for ESA to send information across to UC.

Once ESA have confirmed your status with UC, you will no longer have a work coach.
