How does freelance artist self employment declaration work?

Hi, I am curious on how this would work. Say I tried doing some art commissions that were no more than £100 and I only tried it for one month then realised it isn't for me. Would I need to report this as self employment? How would this work? Everything I've read about this is very confusing.

Hi @Li981 if your income before expenses is more than £1000 then you will need to register as self employed.
You can always complete a self assessment online for a bit of reassurance here - Check if you need to tell HMRC about additional income - GOV.UK
Best wishes,
