Hi, my name is Kathy, and I am looking for a hotels or holiday lets within the UK that have an electric bed and wetroom. Previously have holidayed in The Netherlands and found a great hotel there, however would like to try the UK this time.

Hi @Oriorin, welcome to the community. Is there any particular part of the UK that you'd be interested to travel to? That might help us narrow down some suggestions.

If you do a quick search on the internet, there are few different holiday let websites that let you filter for your accessibility requirements so that might be worth a look. Our members might have some suggestions too.

Hopefully there's something that would suit you for your travels 😊

Hi, thanks for that, no particular place in mind. Have looked at several sites, while I can get a wetroom, there are none with electric beds

Hi @Oriorin, my Mum and I have been going to Haven for the past couple of years since I was diagnosed with Cauda Equina. They have accessible caravans - for some reason their booking site isn't the most reliable when it comes to booking accessible accommodation, but if you give them a ring, they're normally very helpful.

Whilst as standard, the adapted units owned by Haven don't have electric beds, there are some caravans that are privately owned that have electric beds. I've previously stayed in one in Filey. I've just done a quick search and there's one in Berwick Upon Tweed, so whilst they are an anomaly, they are out there.

We've always found Haven to be very reasonable in terms of price in term time and have generally paid between £100 - £180 for 4 nights. When booking you can choose between Haven / Haven Hideaway Packages - there doesn't tend to be a massive difference in price. The Haven package includes entertainment passes and swimming, as well as the option to pre-book additional free and paid activities. However, we tend to go for the Hideaway Package as often not well enough to make the most of that, but you we still really enjoy ourselves and we can still access the arcades in the main complex.

All accessible accommodation is dog friendly / supposed to be dog friendly if this is something that you'd need to consider and apparently you don't pay an excess fee.

Currently only stayed at Primrose Valley, Filey and Cala Gran, Blackpool, but have done day visits to Blue Dolphin, Filey and had a drive through Marton Mere, Blackpool. Primrose Valley and Marton Mere are absolutely beautifully maintained - not an ounce of litter in sight and we always see friendly staff members working really hard.

From a personal POV we have tended to stick to Primrose Valley - there's absolutely tons of things to do around the local area and you've got a choice when it comes to going to Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington as you're smack bang in the middle of both Scarborough and Brid. Don't know whether you're a car driver or reliant on public transport. I'm a car driver, but sometimes my Mum likes to have a day out by herself, so will get the bus from just outside reception at Primrose Valley which takes her to Scarborough and albeit the opposite direction, you can get the same bus to Bridlington.

My only criticism is that whilst the adapted caravans are accessible, I'm not sure how much market research has been done by way of communicating with disabled people, as the placement of cupboards and the microwave definitely aren't accessible and adjustable beds are few and far between.

Primrose Valley is quite hilly, so not great if you're self propelling like me, but if I can't manage I just drive between different parts of the site that I want to access.

If you wanted to consider Haven, I've also found an accessible caravan at Reighton Sands in Filey https://www.directholidayhomes.co.uk/yorkshire/reighton-sands-holiday-park/8830

Just to add, just been looking at https://accessibleholidayescapes.co.uk/ as a whole and you can filter searches based on your individual requirements

I hope this helps and that you get to enjoy a holiday 😊
