Yep! back in 2009.
Had a nasty episode that led to blood poisoning!
Fluxacillion -augmentin drip.
The leg was roasting hot, red in colour, that was misshapen from knee to toes.
Took a while to get over that and in truth have never really felt that i fully recovered; as i went onto have a few smaller bouts the proceeding yrs; but nowhere near that level.
When I say I feel I never fully recovered, i mean it in the sense that I feel it really took something out of me..or maybe the blood poisoning did something long-lasting.

That sounds horribly familiar Middleton. Did you get the horrible blisters too? I've got fluxacillin, I'm wondering if they're working well for me. Seem to be taking a long time to take effect. When I think back ,penicillin didn't help my Dad, wondering if I'm the same? Never had anything like this in my life before. And don't want it again!

My distraction is refurbishing/restoring antique/vintage oil lamps…..I get to do a lot of it especially since the huge "announcement" this week. Today I did some as normally don't on a Sunday and then will be playing Guild Wars 2 while watching Inspector Morse!
Here my most recent 'large' projects…..a Hinks No. 2 Duplex with etched globe and clear reservoir/font on a Hinks Brass corinthian column and stepped base.

I had a great afternoon with friends
Just popped tea in the oven
Listening to 70's music and going to watch a drama later.

Overall about 20 hours as I completely strip down the burner, put it (the burner) through an ultrasonic cleaner, then use a dremel for reminder of cleaning and polish. Then I move onto the brass on the reservoir/font, the column and base. I also do a deep but gentle clean of the reservoir/font, flue/chimney and the shade no matter what kind it is.
I normally have up to 5 projects on the go due to the various steps.
Thank You for the compliment ☺️
