P.s keep checking your journal as a message came up on mine with the datr and also time I’d be called - and the name of the person that would be calling me.

Excuse all my typos (another sleepless night but condition related 🥱)

    Hi @ChasingRainbows

Did your local job centre phone you randomly or did they leave you a message in your journal to confirm what time they’ll phone you? I don’t want to be sitting beside my phone all day waiting for a random call.

Ignore my reply above. Just seen this. How long did it take from the day you submitted your claim to get a message in the journal confirming the date and time?

@SM9346 I got my appointment in my journal the day after - I submitted on the 25th February (around 1am) and it was on my journal 26th. I’ll see if I can attach a screenshot of the notification I got.

I don’t know how to message you directly

(you can tell I’m new on here!)

I submitted it yesterday around half 1 in the afternoon. So I should get confirmation on Monday.

The reason I hope I get the call instead of having to attend the job centre. As I’m uncomfortable having to show job centre staff any bank statement for proof of address if they need them as I’ve had bad experiences with them in the past with stuff like this.

I can message you on your profile don’t know if it’s the same as mines?

    Hey @SM9346

I’ve had a message before - I just don’t know how to send them. I’m probably missing something really obvious 🙈

If they’ve said a call, then I’m sure it will just be the same as what I got - name, dob, NI number, address etc.

She rang me at the exact time too!

I thought she was going to ask loads but it was just basic info and she was really lovely about it all. In fact she pointed out my ESA was part cont based (I didn’t have a clue as I’ve been claiming for a while) and to highlight on my journal that I’ll be migrating to New Style ESA (my head is pickled as I have 3 different pay days now between UC, New ESA and my ADP 🤯

I totally understand what you mean about having to go to the job centre. I covered someone’s maternity leave as a manager a wee while ago and I’ve always felt really awkward going there since 😬

    Hey @ChasingRainbows

My concern is they don’t call and have to go to the job centre. I’d rather show my phone contract recent bill than my bank statement if they ask for that. I’d show them my bank card, passport and my phone contract bill if needed.

Really hope I get a phone call confirmed online on Monday and I can relax.

    Hey @SM9346

Tbh I think they’d call rather than ask you to come in. They didn’t ask anything about my bank account details even in the call.

I think because it’s a migration they have everything on file from your ESA.

I messed my ID questions up with the credit ones … how they expect you to remember when you took out things you’ve paid off years ago and were never in arrears with. I don’t know 🤦🏻‍♀️

I also gave my passport info.

The agent that phoned me said they’re having to do loads of these calls because of the online system, a lot of people are failing. So I wouldn’t think they’d ask folk to come into the job centre if there’s a lot?
I got my payment summary, my payment is on Monday and they didn’t ask for any bank statements.

    Hey @ChasingRainbows

It does say in my account 2-3 days, so hoping I’ll get an update on my account on Monday. But I’ve seen elsewhere this we will call you message is a glitch? So who knows. I’ve seen elsewhere people have had phone calls like yours and still had to go in or even had no phone call and told straight to job centre.

I put my bank details in on the form plus my passport number on the ID online and my NI number. But the issue like yourself was the credit ones. They asked me for a credit card and when was the last time I had one. I’ve never had one in my entire life only a debit card. But there was no option to say I’ve not had one. I answered the other questions right but that one question made me fail the ID online hence the we will call you message I got straight after.

It’s already in my account I’ll find out on the 30th of April and I’ll get my first payment on the 4th of May. An agent has already updated my account yesterday to say I don’t have to look for work or that. So hopefully I get a message on Monday about the phone call and I can relax.

Although your official statement date is 30 April, they are often available 1-2 days before that date, so it's worth checking.

    Hi @ChasingRainbows

This is the message I got in my account yesterday. Any idea what it means?

It’s not a message everyone on UC will have that.

I thought that. I’m hoping for a phone call as I don’t want to attend job centre.

    @SM9346

Sorry for not replying sooner, sleeping as had a bad night.
I got a message like that in my to do list but it’s gone now, as the task has been completed.
It was the credit ones I messed up on and it’s the same kinda thing - about something I’m sure I never had.

The person that phoned me from the Job Centre said it’s happening loads with those multiple choice questions.

That’s why they’re having to do all the calls.

Good to know it’s not just us both having the same issues with the credit ones. I thought some of the questions didn’t make sense to be honest. I found the form actually fine to do but the credit references one did annoy me.
They must assume everyone has had a credit card in their life’s at some point. I did put in my passport details and national insurance stuff in online so hopefully they’ll have that information.

    Hope you’re feeling better now!

@SM9346 Its definitely not just us 😅

I found the form really straight forward until I reached the credit reference ones. I was really beginning to doubt myself afterwards and wanted to out what ones I could have got wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you’ve been claiming ESA for a while and had PIP/ADP I honestly think you’ll only get a phone call and not have to go in with anything - they’ll have everything on records including the bank account your benefits are paid into. When I got my call it was just a formality.

I know sometimes it’s easier said than done but the best thing to do is try put it to the back of your mind until Monday, as there’s nothing you can do about it or nobody you can call before then.

I made my conditions way worse with flare ups panicking before my call and I’d no reason to, as it was over in minutes 🙈

I’m feeling a bit better after a wee sleep, thanks 😊

@ChasingRainbows You think there would be an easy way of like letting you upload your documents yourself and not do the credit references? 😂

I done the form within half an hour, I had all my answers ready infront of me. I think j got 5 chances to fix the credit issue but it just wouldn’t accept any of the options you can pick.

I’m 32 (well just turned 32) 2 months ago. Had ESA since I was 17 (2010) and been on it since. Was on PIP for a long time since I was 17 too until ADP took over that last year. I’ve always had the same bank account since I was 16. Account number and sort code still the same 16 years later. Never had any other bank account. Had to change my card details a few times over the years due to damage or losing it. 😅

Hopefully I’ll get a message in my account on Monday and hopefully it’s a phone call I get like yourself.

I think I posted on here before but I was struggling with the entire move over. It was causing me to panic like yourself or just have random breakdowns where I would cry for like a long time. Finally done the form yesterday and majority of the things I was worried about weren’t that bad. The last part I’m annoyed about is the ID bit. But hopefully I can forget about that on Monday if I get a meaaage. I won’t settle until the ID part is done. As I know I’ll be left alone. I do struggle from Severe Anxiety and it makes Ill and I overreact to anything that turns out be nothing in the end.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better :).

@SM9346 I was exactly the same about the change over. I really struggled and have severe anxiety too, so I understand 🫤

The whole thing with the credit questions threw me and I thought I was going to get interrogated in my phone call, so couldn’t eat or sleep the night before that … when it lasted for minutes I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry! 🙈

I overthink way too much about things, so things like this just send me spiralling and then that makes the rest of my conditions flare up! So sounds like we’re similar!
Please leave a comment or message if you can, to let me know how you get on with it? Really hope you can relax a wee bit this weekend - sending positive thoughts ✨

This is something that I’ve heard and read about. I must say I’ve not received any confirmation as yet about myself migrating from ESA Support Group to Universal Credit. But what worries me, is will I lose my ESA Money with the Migration. I’m already claiming ESA with Universal Credit and PIP. It such a confusing a stressful period we are all having to go through to say the least. If someone puts forms in front of me, I kind of go into a complete mind melt down looking at the forms alongside doing my best Dory impression from finding Nemo and would have to go to my local citizens advice for help to fill them out. What’s the old saying, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Someone higher up has obviously got bored and gone, what chaos can we cause….. let’s get rid of ESA and make people migrate to Universal Credit! Then sit back and watch the carnage unfold, as I can imagine there are plenty of people like yourself and many others, myself included. That once we do a form, we want instant action and result. Not a long drawn out process of weeks and months, that leads to a hugely negative impact on not just our mental health but also our physical health to. It is just a hugely detrimental affair that of a failed government and system that will lead to people having breakdowns, self harming or taking there own life.
