    Hi @farhan13579

    Yes, it is best to tell them you have a driving licence if they ask.

    The only way you qualify for motability scheme is if you have high rate mobility component of pip, it is not to do with whether you have a driving license or not.

    Hi,

    Having a driving licence is one of the 'cut & paste' excuses some assessors use to refuse people PIP.

    If you have got one, you should definitely tell them, but make clear any difficulties or limitations you have with driving, as that can help to back up points made for other descriptors.

    There should be no issue with you telling them you hold a driving licence, lots of able bodied and disabled folk do, indeed Enhanced PIP allows you to join the motability scheme to lease a car so you would need a licence to access this if eligible.

    @farhan13579

    Also some people have a driving license purely for ID purposes.

    Always tell them the truth.

    If you can only manage part time work due to your health conditions then explain that to the assessor.

    Is this true ?

    Many people who are on Motability do not drive themselves and rely on partners to drive for them

    Is it true that you have to have higher rate mobility component to go onto motability? Yes.

    Is it true to tell them that you have a driving licence? Yes.

    Hi @farhan13579 I applied in Aug 22, assessment on phone in Dec 22, was declined and did Mandatory Reconsideration, that was also declined by March 23, applied for Tribunal and attended that in March 2024 was awarded standard for daily living. I didn't appeal for mobility as was bad but lot worse now but awarded until Aug 27 (5yr award) so guessing that will be reviewed from Aug 26 then stopped at review if i don't get 4 points on any category which I didn't before. Then I'll appeal and off we go again on the ridiculous merry- go-round that's the DWP which is so far from merry as it could possibly be!

    Then if not awarded it back and we get to Nov 28 my LCWRA will get stopped if the Green Paper gets passed. Then I've 17 months until state pension age so impoverished basically unless there's a miracle.

    Sorry for gloomy post but that's my reality. Despite all of the above, for now - today, I'm happy. Take care and all the best to you.

    On a more positive note, my son's transition from dla to pip in 2020 was seemless. Applied mid december 2019. Awarded double enhanced 5 years April 2020 paper based assessment.

    There's no telling but if you have good NHS reports confirming your disabilities and have a carer/support worker who is willing to back up your evidence, it could be plain sailing.
