enhanced mobility mental health

hi hope someone can help. i get pip mobility standard rate but think i am entitled to enhanced. i have a dissociative disorder and have periods of time where i have no memory of whats happened, hours can go by with no memory. i have come to harm in these situations and got lost. i do not go out alone only attend mental health appointments and someone takes me and brings me back home. i cannot follow a route that is familiar to me safely due to this. i cannot cope with any change and have sensory issues. from reading this what are your thoughts. thanks

Hi,
If you were awarded 1E (cannot undertake any journey due to OPD) then that one over-rides 1F.
It sounds like that is what's happened here. But you're saying you could go out more often, and are not being kept at home by severe anxiety?
From the info you've provided, it does sound like you should be awarded 1F, but it depends on how often these periods of dissociation happen. The assessors should also be taking the risk of harm into account, but that is balanced against the frequency, so it's really down to their discretion and not something we can say for definite one way or the other.
Sorry that's not much help. Personally, I do think you should challenge it, but be very careful that you could lose the award you already have, as the whole lot will be reviewed again.
