hi

I handed in a LCW on 17 dec

My fit notes are dated 14/10-14/12, 5/12-5/2, and 5/2 -5/4

My assessment period is 26th - 25th of the month and I receive Universal credit on the 3rd of the month

I was awarded LCWRA and has been added to April pay (26 feb - 25 march)

And said I will get £416 paid that they owe from 26th Jan - 25th Feb

But I’m sure it’s not adding up to 3 months waiting period

Does it matter if the dr did 2 months for note instead of 1 at a time ?

I’m really confused how it’s worked out

kind regards

The waiting period is three full assessment periods. You are then eligible for LCWRA in the following AP, which is paid at the end of that fourth AP.

Sorry I'm not clear on some relevant information from your post.

What date did you report the health condition?

What date did you hand in the first Fit Note?

thank you for your reply, my health was reported on the 20/11 which they then sent out the form, I submitted fit notes on the 14th October, 5th December and 5th February and each covered me for 2 months until the next.

You submitted a Fit Note on 14th October, but didn't report the health condition until 20th November?

That doesn't make sense to me, but I can tell UC are saying your waiting period is:

    October/November, November/December, December/January.

    Payment for January/February.

I have had fit notes for my condition for over a year, I was only advised advised to apply for Lcwra by my agent in the middle of nov, when they sent the form.

Don’t know if that helps !

To trigger a WCA you need to report health condition and submit a Fit Note.

So any Fit Notes prior to reporting a health condition won't count towards the waiting period.

so in that case the first for note would be dated the 5th dec which I was signed off for two months.

Then imagine submitted the next one 5 feb which again was 2 months

That's not quite what I meant, if you had supplied a Fit Note prior to reporting the health condition, it would start being counted from the date you reported health condition.

So if you had a Fit Note from say August - December, reported health condition October, that Fit Note would count from October.

As advised DWP are saying your waiting period is:.

    October/November, November/December, December/January.

    Payment for January/February onwards.
