Help me, help them?

I don't want to take money from hardworking people who are paying dreadfully high taxes because someone like me is forced to exist for no other reason than being told I must.
At least one of us want to die. I just want the right to have my family around me so everyone is together for one last gathering, understanding and respecting the choice. I know the grief and despair acting alone does because two people we knew are self-departed, and the mothers live that grief everyday believing they could have stopped it. Not everyone can be saved, but you can't convince the relatives of that.
There has to be a better way for me to go find my Grandma and Grandpa in the house they're living in upstairs.
Is there nothing that can be done to change government thinking on this? I believe now is a great opportunity because the gov has identified support for disabled people is unaffordable and unsustainable moving forward. There should be a range of solutions to address this.

Yes, there will definitely be a lot of opposition to these proposed changes.
And - remember - if the changes do go through, for one it is going to take time to implement. Everyone, i'm sure, will keep their award until it's reviewed.
The other very important thing is that many, many people will keep their award!
I am a non disabled person but have a disabled son and also a non disabled teenager. Which puts me in a few camps. I am close to adult working people, teens in high school and disabled young folks.
I know some of the people the government wants to target. It isn't you, really it isn't.
There are teenagers falling into severe mental health crisis due to social problems post pandemic. That's one group.
There are young adults whose confidence is shattered due to disruptions in education, cost of living crisis etc.
About 40% of young folk think they will never be able to work!! They are shattered and disillusioned.
And others who are ill but could get better with support.
The public is against these changes. The public is on your side.
Don't believe the right wing media trying to whip up their usual benefit scrounger stories.
You will be ok.

It's great that so many kind people will fight this. But I don't wanna fight. I've been having this internal debate for over 20 years. The argument that won was... you'll know when the time is right. I've finally arrived at that judgement. It doesn't make me feel sad, it makes me feel good. It makes me feel relieved.
