Hi @Karen621 Welcome to the Community. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum. Any questions just ask.

There are two threads Green paper and Spring Statement where other members have shared their concerns on what the government are doing. You might like to look at these.

Have a look around and join in when you are ready.

    Take care.

Hi karen, i have just done the esa migrate to u/c & found it quite simple filling in the online form. I was on esa (support group) & now im in the new style esa + u/c so get half off esa & half off u/c + you can also ask to have your rent paid direct & still get paid fortnightly instead of monthly if you prefer, i was accepted by both because of my mental health so if you are receiving esa for physical or mental health problems or even both then it should not be a problem + you will still get paid from esa until your deadline date which takes approx 5 weeks from the date you first register & fill the form in once you receive your migration letter & then it just migrates over & if you don't want to claim esa but just u/c you can do that also & have the one payment coming from u/c instead of splitting the two, but i went for the split just in case they took me out of the support group. It can be a bit daunting at first not knowing what's happening, but touch wood mine went ok at the moment & received my first payment today from u/c & my next payment from new style esa will be on the 4th of april. Hope this helps you…

Thank you for your help , mikee63. I have done the forms and have gone straight to U C , l didn’t realise l could split with ESA , but it is going through now hopefully . I had some help from C. A . B , It all seems a bit fast filling out the to do list , but l think that’s because my partner had to take over as he is my carer for me . My hands spasm and l can’t type . I just keep worrying if l did everything ok . I will soon know if my payment comes through ok . I have been to the Job Centre to verify myself as well . I’m glad you got yours ok though .

Hi karen, many thanks to your response & just to say i'm glad that you managed to get your u/c sorted, but you can still have your u/c paid fortnightly if you prefer along with your rent being paid direct. Just keep a daily check on your journal for any emails that come through & respond to them right away. For the emails that are highlighted in blue address them asap in your to-do-list & if you are unsure about anything then just ring them up as i found them to be polite & courteous & very helpful indeed. you can find the u/c department number on your migration letter. Good luck…
