Four point rule

Hi,

I have standard daily living needs with an ongoing award until October 2031. I got this award long term as its accepted my physical conditions are highly unlikely to improve. My worry, like many of you is this 4 pointer in the green paper from November 2026 if it comes into law. Do any of you think DWP are likely to instigate a review as opposed to waiting until my award ends. I am hoping for the latter or at least they will review those with a review due before they start to dig out ongoing awards that don't include a 4 point activity. The ironic thing is I have clearly indicated that I believe I should have a 4 point score in washing and bathing but both timI have applied for PIP I got 3 points on this activity. I never appealed as it wasn't necessary. Any thoughts Anyone?

I think they will wait until the review is needed. What worries me is the length of time it takes them to do the review. Mines been going on for 6 months got a letter yesterday to say my review is still on going and its been extended for another year and may be extended again. What's to stop them sending out the reviews that are needed and keep extending them until after the November 2026 deadline. The review process is bad enough now with the new 4 point rule possibly coming in its even worse

They really don't have the staff to review everyone like that. We're still seeing backlogs over a year in many places for reviews. They have to prioritise new claims. I don't think they'll be reviewing early, but obviously no-one can say for sure at the moment.
