ID Appointment

Hi all, as part of my migration move over from ESA to UC. I have to attend job centre on Thursday and I’d like to ask a few questions about. It says on my journal.
I’ve to take one photo ID (my passport)
2 secondary items (birth certificate and debit card)
Anything with my NI number on.
It’s also asked about bring 1 proof of bank details. Since I’m already using my debit card for one of my secondary items. Can I also use this for proof of my details? If not it it says I can use my mini atm statement but it doesn’t show my account number and sort code (Santander) on it. Would that cause any issues at the meeting?
Along with the above I’m planning to take my disabled bus pass (if they accept), my recent phone bill contract which has my address on it, recent NHS letter, recent benefits letter and my P60U.

Hi @SM9346 I'm so sorry you didn't get a response before your meeting. Did it go ok? And am I ok to ask what you needed? It might help someone else who's having the same worries. 😊

Hi @Holly_Scope. My appointment isn’t actually until tomorrow. I got my dates mixed up. 🤣.
Remind me tomorrow and I’ll keep you updated.0 -
Thanks @SM9346! Hopefully what you take is ok. You could always pop them a call this afternoon just to check about the Bank statement just to put your mind at ease.
Wishing you all the best for your meeting!☺️

Hi @Holly_Scope.
Im just taking much ID I have with me. I’m generally more bothered about these claim reviews that might happen in the future. Apparently other DWP staff elsewhere said on any means tested benefits in the past like ESA or JSA you were meant to get them every year? I never had one at all apart from a reassessment.0 -
hi @SM9346 I had jobcentre appointment last week about ID.. I took debit card, dwp letter, birth certificate&medical card they were approved straight away..I was only at the appointment 15minutes it was very quick and easy..I hope you have the same experience there certainly isn’t anything to worry about..Goodluck!!

Got my documents ready for tomorrow. Just really nervous.
Im hoping tomorrow is my last ever time in the job centre for good and I hope I have no more contact from UC (no claim review for a while) nothing.

Hi @Mary_Scope
Not long out my appointment. It was fine took me less than 10 mins.
Just showed my passport, birth Certicate and bank card with proof of my bank on my banking app. Never asked for anything else. Woman was lovely.
Got told to check my account on the 30th to find out how much I’ll get it and that’s it. I did get offered an advance but never took it up as I don’t need it for now.

I had mine with a rather lovely DWP guy who apologised the stress it was all causing me gave a glass of water

Hi @SM9346 I'm really pleased what you took was ok. It must be a nice relief that it's done now. I hope you have a nice relaxing evening planned 😊

Hi @Holly_Scope this has taken over my life in the past 2 months where I couldn’t enjoy the things i was doing. Turns out it wasn’t that bad as I thought.
Think the only thing I was stressing about is these ‘claim reviews’ but it’s unlikely I’ll get one this year or whatever so I can deal with that down the line.

I completely get it @SM9346, really do. 💛 Hope you're feeling a bit better now.

Feels a huge thing is out of my system. Now I can go back and enjoy my life.
The thing I found interesting was they knew I was getting ESA before it. My account will get updated in the next few weeks confirming no work requirements etc. I understand a lot of people including myself have given the DWP/Job Centre a hard time over the years. But everyone I met today in the job centre was really lovely to me.
