Good Evening Everyone,

Is e m’ ainm Dòmhnall, I’m 41 and I’m sure they said that life starts as you hit 40 😊 but I must admit the road I’ve been on since I turned 40, has been like a Himalayan Road in Nepal!! I fight my head each day, ADHD, ASD, Depression, Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, with Spastic Cerebral Palsy, Osteoarthritis- Hips, Lower Back and Right Shoulder, Long Covid, Asthma, Eczema, Acid & Bile Reflux. When they get together to have a fight, it’s fair to say it’s like Bannockburn, El Alamein, Jutland, Battle Of Britain,The Somme, War Of The Roses and every other battle rolled into one and then the old knuckle dragging chimp Hadrian comes out to join the ruck.
I’ve been fighting for over 41 years to just keep ploughing forward, working on each challenge and obstacle as it’s come my way. But today I’ve had to have a sit down and have a natter with myself! Ever since my ex wife ended our marriage in October 2023, I’ve buried my head in the sand by keep saying to myself “I’m not signing the papers” or “I’m not paying for the divorce” But today I’ve actually told myself to eat some humble pie and be the better person. But I’ve decided I’m going go do a no contest divorce and apply for funding towards it.I just want go move on with my life by shutting down and hiding. Instead I want to slowly start living life again, go to concerts, theatre, football, motorsport etc.

Heya @Grumpy1314 and a warm welcome to the community from me too.😁

The big question is, which band will you be wanting to watch live first? 🤔

Thank You for your kind words 💚 I’m proud my story has inspired you. Each day is a learning experience, but I’m a tough old cooky. Just taking each day a minute at a time, thankful that I have a roof over my head, food in the kitchen, on top of utilities and thankful for each breath I take when I wake up in the morning.

It’s a tough one, the two of go and watch this year would have to be Sabaton or Disturbed. But I’m wary with my mental health and Anxiety. Seen a fair few bands in my time, Status Quo, Queen & Paul Rodger’s, Texas, Kaiser Chiefs, The Pogues, Elton John, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Carlos Santana, Metallica, Halestorm, Avatar, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Blackstone Cherry, Alice Cooper, Saxon, Michael Monroae, Stranglers, Motörhead.

@Grumpy1314 Carlos Santana, I am GREEN with envy 🤭😅 F'lor de luna my favourite. I was lucky to see Queen too, I'm sure it was Status Quo and Big Country supporting at Knebworth c 1986 didn't know at the time but think it was Queen's last concert.

I hope you do get to go to concerts and to the theatre again and just take it at your pace, when you are ready. (I can't travel anywhere now but this Friday Shirley Bassey is on BBC4 from 2110 to 0220 so that's my 'night out' and I can't wait).

Starting to live your life again it's like a 'rebirth' and you sound like you have a strong inner spirit and strength after such a difficult time. I truly wish you well on your journey ✨️ 🙏

There's some excellent bands in there! I used to go to many gigs back in the day, but like you, the anxiety and other mental health issues often get in the way now. Disturbed live were amazing way back when and by the sound of things, they've only got better with age. 😁

every time I go into a dark zone, or have dark thought and think about giving up. I just have to look at this photo of me when I was born 3 months early, weighing 4lb and dropped to the weight of a bag of sugar overnight, had to have emergency CPR, within 3 days I had been christened. Fair to say I’ve got the fighting spirit of my Ancestors burning inside of my DNA, watching over me at all times. I have a beautiful green vase, that was my late Mum’s cousins, my late Auntie Sue. Every time I go past I kiss my fingers and place them on top, then look upwards and say I love you to all of those I’ve lost over the last 41 years. It’s going to be sad that I’ll never know or be able to say goodbye to my parents, but I had to just cut the ties when the chips were down for the goodness of my health.

If I could choose 6 bands that I could have seen in there prime would be -

    Led Zeppelin

    Pink Floyd

    Cream

    Rush

    Queen with Freddie Mercury

    ELO

I must say, one Artist I would have loved to have seen live would have been Neil Diamond.
