Hi hoping someone can advise me

I last applied to discretionary support 2 years ago where I was told I was unable to apply due to being over the threshold.
Can anyone advise as to what benefits they do/don’t take into consideration?
I am disabled so receive PIP and 2 of my children have autism and other disabilities and receive DLA

We are also get UC and child benefit

Thank you ☺️

Hi @mbee I've not experienced this myself, but I've found the below on the website (link -Discretionary Support | nidirect) which I hope is helpful.

    Eligibility

    • you must have an extreme or exceptional situation or be in a crisis which puts your or your immediate family’s health, safety or well-being at significant risk
    • you must live in Northern Ireland
    • the crisis must have arisen in Northern Ireland
    • you must be over 18 or at least 16 if you do not have any parental support
    • your and your partner’s (if you have one) total annual income after deductions must not be more than £28,571.40
      • (Some types of income are not taken into account when assessing this figure and reductions can be made for expenses such as housing costs)
    • any money including savings you or your partner have may be taken into account when making an award

Hopefully other members who might be able to advise from their own experiences will see your post and comment. Wishing you all the best with your application. ☺️

    Best wishes,
