Can some kind Person Give Me a UC Overview Moving From ESA?

3 or 4 weeks ago I got a Letter saying I had to Apply for UC. It turned my stomach and was very upsetting. It's only now I can think about it. I said to my sister the letter says I can apply for more time but she said there is some time period or payment that, if you don't apply in time, you lose it. I honestly don't yet know what it all involves and from a PIP underpayment I recently-ish got a bulk payment but was told (here) I didn't need to inform anyone as it's disregarded for 12 months but I'm worried now I might need to go into my finances with this. Can't I just ask them to make the Appliaction as they know my PIP, ESA, SD payments, my rent and council tax and because the bulk payment is disregarded, my savings are under £6,000 if that's what they need?

    I just need a gentle intro to what I'm facing without going to the www.gov or phoning the 0800number and getting overwhelmed again.

    OK just an idea from someone - will I have to do a bigger application or will it get more complicated if I ask for an extention in the UC Application window, like missing money and having to apply for that too? Or will it be like PIP where you get an extention and there's no difference in the procedure?
