MP constituents surgery

Hi everyone,

After a back and forth of emails with my Labour MP about PIP cuts, I've got an appointment with my MP on 9th May at his surgery. It's just a 10 minute slot, and there is so much to say, and would appreciate any advice on the most efficient use of that time.

The first reply I got was a list of existing benefits, and offering to help me apply for them. I'm being very careful to steer it away from it being about me as an individual, because them helping one person apply for an extra benefit is not going to help the thousands more who are going to be hurt by these cuts.

However, personal stories seem to have more impact than statistics. I'm considering purchasing another copy of John Pring's book "The Department" to hand over and urge him to read to educate him on what has historically happened when people's benefits are cut. I don't know how that would come across though and would take any suggestions.

I guess focusing more on personal stories from my past (for example, I was receiving PIP between the ages of 18 and 22, the exact demographic they are saying does not need it). And if that had been taken away at that time, it would not have made me magically employable, but more ill.

I've never spoken to an MP face to face, only over email, so am quite nervous and don't want my words twisted.
