I'd still recommend you reach out to local welfare rights as per my advice of May 2nd.

Local welfare rights advisors are paid or volunteers who support people with benefits advice among other things. They work on behalf of charities or other organisations and are not affiliated with DWP.

@leeannathomas you are a very gracious young lady indeed…Thank you

I was originally interested in your post because I am on the same support as you were (£960 every month in ESA & SDP) and havent yet migrated over to UC and am dreading it already as im no good at filling in new forms or communicating my problems/issues clearly if any should arrive regarding the migration journey due to my disability, especially when my mental health is really bad which it has been these past few years so my heart really does go out to you with your situation and can sense the frustration, anxiety and worry your experiencing.

I really hope you can find someone or someone finds you who will be able to listen to you and help you find out what the issue is with your claim and why your not being paid the same as when you were on IR ESA

Sending you lots of positive energy and wishing a good outcome for you very soon x

Hello Kiki my name is Leeanna, nice to meet you. I can empathise with all you wrote. I was dreading the port over. My experience with it was I applied online before the deadline on managed migration letter. They asked a few questions online about my health nothing too difficult at all. They then arranged a telephone appointment to go through the identity confirmation. They they arranged a appointment to go through my commitments, which was a simple appointment as they said I was in the Support Group on ESA so wouldn’t have to visit the job centre etc and everything would pretty much be the same. My problem is that I have found I am receiving less money than I was. I have worked out what I should be receiving as per the calculations they provided. I don’t know anymore this is what Ive found. I really hope your situation is simple and your financially amount is the same if not better. Really don’t worry yourself, you can always get welfare rights and citizens advice bureau to help you before you port over so you have got them there immediately god forbid you need them. I’m the same I worry and worry and I can’t help myself.

Glad to hear you are going to call the welfare rights people as the lovely Kimmi suggested!!!

You know I was just looking at the top of this letter and it says "The information UC received was as follows ESA £443 and based on weekly income £102"

This looks like they are talking about what information they received from ESA BUT have got it wrong and not added you SDP on to this calculation. The reason im saying this is because underneath that statement it says "Total migrating Legacy award £780" which to me sounds like they are talking about your old benefits BUT have not received the proper calculation for your old award

I can’t take much more mentally, phoned Welfare Rights and they said they can’t help, they are not taking on anymore people. They said ring Citizens Advice and I’ve been trying and none of the options available apply to me when I phone. I don’t know where to turn, I am beside myself

Citizens Advice offer a Help to Claim service, they can give advice on your first payment. It is a national service run by phone & web chat not linked to your local branch.
